Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of video playback in the teaching of Trauma for nursing under-graduates. Methods A total of 60 nursing undergraduates who practiced in the emergency department of a hospital were selected by convenience sampling from July 2018 to December 2018. The video playback method was used to conduct Trauma teaching. Contents of the video playback included sending the standardized video of Trauma skills to the students one week before the class; instructing the students according to their self-learning of the standardized video, grouping the students to complete trauma assessment and first-aid skills, videoing the whole skill process by students themselves;playing back the video to the students, discussing, reflecting and commenting the problems they found in the video. The teaching effects were evaluated by theoretical examination, skill examination,Mini-CEX score and satisfaction with the teaching method. Results The scores of theoretical examination and skills assessment of nursing undergraduates were(76.80±7.49)and(85.79±5.22)respectively. The video playback was hoped by 96.67% of nursing undergraduates to be used in the Trauma teaching in the future. Conclusion The video playback is an effective teaching method, and it is well accepted by the nursing undergraduates.
