Application of the guided reflection log in online teaching of Community Nursing

Abstract:

Objective To explore the effects of the guided reflection log in online teaching of Community Nursing. Methods During the period of “class suspension with learning uninterrupted”,thirty students of grade 2017 were selected. The teaching methods were online teaching and the reflection log. Students completed their reflection log according to the guiding questions in their free time. Students’ reflection level was evaluated by log framework analysis. The teaching effects were evaluated by the examination scores and the questionnaire survey. Results All the 30 students completed the online learning and the log completion rate was 96.0%. Students’ reflective ability was gradually improved,and the critical reflection rate reached more than half in the last three chapters. The mean score of Community Nursing was(85.78±6.28). 93.3% of the students thought that the reflection log was conducive for learning. Conclusion The guided reflection log can effectively cultivate students’ reflection ability and improve the teaching effects. The students agree that such a method is effective and acceptable.
