The training was consisted of two parts:theoretical teaching(154 hours)and clinical practice(280 hours). The theoretical assessment and clinical practice assessment after training were conducted. The core competencies of nurses before and after training were investigated by self-designed questionnaire. Results The qualified rate of theoretical assessment and clinical practice assessment after the training was 100%. The total score of core competence of nurses after the training was(87.57±11.89). Compared with the score before training, the scores and total scores of core competence of nurses in all dimensions were significantly improved(P<0.001). Conclusion Nurses’ abilities have been improved after swallowing training. In the future,we should combine professional development with advanced training experience, and constantly improve the training of swallowing specialty nursing.
