Abstract:

Objective To investigate the status and influencing factors of head nurses’ post competency in Henan maternal and child health institutions.Methods From May to June 2018,a total of 263 head nurses were selected from the Women’s and Children’s medical alliance of Henan Province using stratified cluster sampling,and surveyed with General Data Questionnaire,Head Nurse’s Post Competency Table,Wallace Self-Concept Scale,Professional Identity Scale,Learning Organization Scale.Results The score of head nurse’s post competency was（4.20±0.63）. Hospital level,training participation,self-concept,professional identity,and learning organization were important factors influencing the head nurse’s post competency level.（P<0.001）.Conclusion The head nurse’s post competency of maternal and child health institutions is at a relatively high level,but there is still room for improvement. Managers can be committed to strengthening training and improving the concept of self-concept,professional identity and learning organization to enhance the head nurse’s post competency.
