Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effect of psychological intervention on T lymphocyte functions in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma（NPC）. Methods Totally 117 patients with NPC received five-session group psychological intervention. Patients were investigated using Self-Rating Anxiety Scale （SAS） and Self-Rating Depression Scale （SDS） before and after intervention. Moreover，patients’ blood samplings were collected to measure T lymphocyte fu nctions before and after intervention. Results After the intervention, patients’ SAS score and SDS score were significantly lower than baseline（P<0.01）. The percentages of CD3+，CD4+，CD56+ T lymphocyte were significantly higher than baseline（P<0.01），while the percentage of CD8+ of T lymphocyte was significantly lower than baseline（P<0.01）. Conclusion Group psychological intervention can effectively relieve the anxiety and depression of patients with NPC, and improve the patients’ immunity.
