The evaluation on Chongqing clinical practice base by gerontological advanced practice nurses

Abstract:

Objective To explore the evaluation on Chongqing clinical practice base by gerontological advanced practice nurses. Methods In December 2020,a focus group interview was conducted with 14 trainees of gerontological advanced practice nurses in Chongqing clinical practice base. Colaizzi 7 data analysis method was used for data sorting and analysis. Results The recording time of the interview was 134 minutes,and the number of transcribed words was 24,297. A total of 3 themes were extracted:teaching feedback(positive feedback,negative feedback),learning gains(systematically updated specialist knowledge,improved clinical practice ability,and changes in scientific research thinking and pattern),teaching suggestions(recommendation of homogenization of outpatient teaching and strengthening teachers’ case management training and assessment). Conclusion The teaching quality and level in Chongqing clinical practice base have been unanimously recognized by the students,and the students have been improved in clinical,teaching,scientific research and management capabilities. However,the level of outpatient teaching and teacher’s case management ability should be strengthened.
