Abstract:

Objective To search, evaluate and integrate the best evidence of oxygen therapy management in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),so as to provide basis for formulating the management standard of patients’ oxygen therapy. Methods The databases were searched including UpToDate,PubMed,Cochrane Library,National Institute for Health and Care Excellence,Guidelines International Network,Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease,Irish Thoracic Association,Australian Lung Foundation,European Respiratory Association,Chinese Nursing Society,Wanfang Database,CNKI,et al. We used AGREE Ⅱ and JBI evidence-based health care center’s document quality evaluation standard and evidence recommendation system(2016 version) to evaluate the quality of various studies and the level of evidence recommendation. The evidence was extracted, summarized and analyzed. Results A total of 14 articles were included, including 10 guidelines,2 evidence summaries,1 systematic review and 1 industy standard. Finally,23 best evidences were summarized including oxygen therapy evaluation, oxygen therapy methods, oxygen flow and duration of oxygen therapy,long-term oxygen therapy, health education and discharge follow-up. Conclusion This study summarizes the best evidence of oxygen therapy for COPD,which can provide a scientific basis for nurses to manage oxygen therapy for patients with COPD. Since the evidence summarized in this study comes from many countries, the personnel also need to continuously update the evidence to improve the hospital safety management by applying the best evidence.
