The interprofessional collaboration practical teaching for undergraduates in the operating room

Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of interprofessional collaboration practical teaching for undergraduates in the operating room. Methods In the operating room,students with different majors including nursing,medicine,and anesthesiology together received the interdisciplinary collaboration practical teaching. Contents of the collaboration teaching involved joint patients visiting before operation,completing the animal simulation operation,and joint follow-up after the operation. The interdisciplinary preparation scale was used to investigate the preparation of these students. Results A total of 250(98.04%) students got a score of more than 57 in their cross professional cooperation attitude,255(100%) students had a score of more than 27 in their team cooperation dimension,248(97.25%) students had a score of more than 21 in their professional identity dimension,and 225(88.24%)students had a score of more than 9 in their role and responsibility dimension. Conclusion Students have high enthusiasm for interprofessional cooperation,active team work,good professional identity. They can cope with their own roles and occupations more actively. The application of interdisciplinary collaboration practical teaching is well accepted by students.
