Abstract:

Objective To explore the effects of TCM health management program in patients with acute pancreatitis. Methods Fifty-eight acute pancreatitis patients were selected by convenient sampling in a tertiary hospital in Tianjin from January 2017 to May 2018. The TCM health management program included information gathering,documents building up,health assessment,intervention,follow-ups,and interactive evaluation. Results After the TCM health management program,the scores of the health practices abilities and all sub-dimensions were increased than those before the intervention（P<0.05）. There were 53 patients returning to the hospital for check-ups,6 patients had complications,and 4 patients had disease recurrence. The complication rate（10.3%） was lower than the 37.5%（P<0.05） of those who did not implement a TCM health management program during the same period. Conclusion TCM health management program can improve health practices abilities. With the time going on,the healthy behavior ability of patients shows a gradual increasing trend.
