A qualitative study on the experience of participating in the Ideological and Political Theory Education in clinical practice among nursing students

Abstract:

Objective To understand the experience of participating in Ideological and Political Theory Education in clinical practice among nursing students. Methods Purposive sampling was used to recruit 15 nursing students who participated in the Ideological and Political Theory Education in clinical practice. In-depth interviews were conducted among these students. Colaizzi phenomenology was used for data analysis. Results Fifteen interviews were conducted with 425 min and 63,526 words. Three themes emerged from the data including establishment of correct values,firmness of ideals and beliefs,and cultivation of medical ethics. Conclusion Nursing students have good experiences in participating in the Ideological and Political Theory Education in clinical practice. Besides,ways and means of deep integration of professional education and Ideological and Political Theory Education should be explored further in order to form a mature and effective Ideological and Political Theory Education programs in clinical practice.
