Abstract:

Objective To analyze the assessment scores of new graduate nurses at the first stage of standardized training in Beijing municipal hospitals, and to provide evidence for optimizing the standardized training program. Methods A multicenter cross-sectional study was conducted, including nurses who were newly recruited in 2024,completed the first stage of training, and participated in the standardized stage assessment organized by the Beijing Hospital Management Center across 16 municipal hospitals. The assessment comprised theoretical knowledge and practical skills evaluation (symptom assessment and procedural operations). Results A total of 1,426 newly recruited nurses were included. The overall pass rate of the training assessment was 97.1%. Theoretical assessment scores averaged 78.89±9.29 points, practical skills scores averaged 89.51±7.24 points. In symptom assessment, nurses in general and traditional Chinese medicine hospitals scored the lowest on the item “palpitations”,while pediatric hospital nurses scored lower on the item “diarrhea”. In procedural operations,“catheterization” and “single-rescuer CPR” were common areas of weakness across all hospital types. Univariate analysis showed that gender, household registration, place of origin, and educational level were all associated with assessment scores(P<0.05). Conclusion Standardized training for new graduate nurses should strengthen theoretical knowledge learning and skill operation training in urinary catheterization and single-rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Training content and management strategies should be further optimized by combining hospital type characteristics and individual nurse differences,so as to improve training quality and homogeneity.
