Abstract:

Objective To explore the effects of risk matrix assessment in prevention and control of COVID-19 in interventional catheterization room. Methods Two rounds of expert consultations were conducted with 16 experts. Four primary indicators including infection sources, transmission routes, susceptible populations, and prevention and control capabilities were identified. Besides,14 secondary indicators were also determined. A two-dimensional risk matrix was established with the infection possibility as the vertical ordinate and outcome severity as the abscissa for all secondary indicators. Emergency prevention and control measures were developed for 5 high-risk and 3 medium-risk indicators. Results From 23 January to 26 February in 2020,107 interventional procedures were successfully completed in the interventional catheterization room. No patients and medical staffs caught the infection. Conclusion The risk matrix assessment can help identify the main potential risk factors. Targeted prevention and control measures can therefore be taken to prevent COVID-19 infection in the interventional catheter room.
