Abstract: Objective To explore the effects of de-escalation thinking on emergency comprehensive ability of nursing undergraduates. Methods Twenty-eight nursing undergraduates of Grade 2014 who practiced in the Emer-gency Department of a tertiary hospital in Harbin were selected as the experimental group. De-escalation thinking training including de-escalation thinking，situation simulation，and emergency triage was used in the experimental group. Another 30 nursing undergraduates of Grade 2013 were selected as the control group and the traditional one-to-one teaching method was used in this group. After one month’s practice，theoretical and skill scores and the teaching effects were compared in both groups. Results The total score of nursing students in the experimental group was 94.18±1.50，which was significantly higher than that in the control group （P<0.001）. The self-rated scoreof clinical first aid ability of nursing students in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group （P<0.001）. Conclusion The de-escalation thinking can improve the emergency knowledge and skills of nursing undergraduates，and improve their self-learning ability and clinical comprehensive emergency ability effectively.
