Abstract:

Based on the outlines and objectives of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) Nursing,20 progressive cases were developed by referring to the real clinic cases collected from the hospital. These cases were used in the TCM teaching and contents of the cases involved syndrome differentiation of eight principles and visceral syndrome differentiation. The total time for the case teaching was 16 hours. The teaching process mainly included analysis of case teaching, discussion, and summary to help build up the TCM differentiation thinking and cultivate the problem solving ability. A total of 119 students took part in the case teaching and self-developed questionnaire was used to evaluate the teaching effects after the course. The score of case analysis was(9.59±0.20). Most students believed that it was helpful to learn key knowledge(96.6%) and the case teaching can improve the ability of TCM syndrome differentiation. It is found that the discussion part needs to be improved. Instructors should clearly discuss the problem and effectively play a guiding role.
