Objective To investigate the impact of personality and self-consistency on subjective well-being in associate nursing students. Methods Totally 392 associate nursing students were investigated with Eysenck Personal Questionnaire（EPQ）， Self Consistency and Congruence Scale（SCCS）， and General Well-being Schedule（GWB）. Results The score of subjective well-being of associate nursing students was（110.24±12.32）， the score was highest in the second academic year（114.75±10.75）and lowest in the third academic year（108.26±12.56）. Moreover, the self-consistency and congruence level was low in the third academic year（94.49±14.62）. Subjective well-being was correlated with personality and self-consistency； self-consistency played a mediating effect on the relationship between personality and subjective well-being. Conclusion The level of subjective well-being is high in associate nursing students. Self-consistency plays a mediating role between personality and subjective well-being.
