Objective In order to solve the problems in the traditional teaching of Nursing Ethics，the course team innovated the teaching design，for providing useful reference for other colleges. Methods Facing three teaching pain points including insufficient depth of ethical cognition，lack of opportunities for ethical practice，and incomplete stimulation of ethical emotions，a trinity teaching innovation model of ‘knowledge · ability · emotion’ was constructed. Results The model included three system initiatives namely 1）Through inquiry learning to strengthen students’ cognition of nursing ethics；2）Strengthen students’ nursing ethical behavior；3）Through curriculum ideological and political to cultivate their ethical emotions. Conclusion This model can effectively improve students’ ethical knowledge，decision-making ability and moral cultivation，and stimulate students’ independent learning ability.
