The experience of patient with gestational diabetes mellitus：a meta-integration of qualitative studies
Objective To systematically review the disease experience of patients with gestational diabetes mellitus（GDM）. Methods Databases were searched for the qualitative research on the disease experience of patients with gestational diabetes，including PubMed，Web of Science，Embase，The Cochrane Library，SinoMed，CNKI，Wanfang and VIP. The retrieval time was set from the establishment of the database to December 2022. The quality evaluation was carried out by the quality evaluation standard of qualitative research of Australian JBI evidence-based health care center in 2016，and the results were integrated by the Meta-integration method. Results A total of 13 studies involving 263 patients were included，and 45 topics were refined into eight new categories and three integrated results：the patients experienced the threat of disease and adapted actively；patients felt the challenges of coping with the disease；patients perceived that social support was not yet sufficient. Conclusion GDM patients experience negative emotions during illness and face many challenges，but can achieve an adaptive state after adjustment. Medical staff should provide adequate social support for patients，improve their quality of life，and ensure the safety of mothers and infants.
