Abstract

Objective To systematically evaluate the real experience of nursing undergraduates’ participation in virtual reality teaching. Methods A number of databases were searched including PubMed,Web of Science,PsycINFO,CINAHL,Cochrane Library,Scopus,CBM,CNKI,Wanfang and VIP. Qualitative research on the experience of nursing undergraduates participating in virtual reality teaching was retrieved from the date of database establishment to February 28,2022. The quality of the literature was evaluated using the quality evaluation criteria of Australian JBI evidence-based health care centers, and the results were summarized and integrated using the aggregative integration method. Results A total of 10 studies were included,48 results were extracted, eight new categories were summarized and classified into three themes:the unique and positive experience of virtual reality teaching;experience of changing situations and roles;experience of defects on content design and technology in virtual reality teaching. Conclusion Nursing students hold a positive attitude and experience of participating in virtual reality teaching. Such innovative teaching methods and perspective of nurses and patients of different learning experience is helpful for students to get rid of the inherent thinking, promote the development of clinical experience and empathy. Still, further studies are needed to enrich the content design details and optimize the technology of virtual reality experience.
