The current status and influencing factors of intercultural communication competence of nursing students
Objective To explore the intercultural communication competence of nursing students and to analyze its influencing factors. Methods From May to July in 2021,a total of 476 nursing students were surveyed on their intercultural communication competence by general information questionnaire and medical situational intercultural communication competence questionnaire. Results The total score of intercultural communication competence of nursing students was（137.6±28.8）. Gender,educational level,professional English and humanities courses,desire for cross-cultural communication courses and communicate with foreign students were the main influencing factors of intercultural communication competence of nursing students（all P<0.05）,which could explain 37.3% of total variation. Conclusion The intercultural communication competence of nursing students needs to be improved. Colleges and universities should explore effective teaching methods and strategies for nursing students with different characteristics to improve the intercultural communication competence.
