Experience of participating in the pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease：a qualitative meta-synthesis
Objective To comprehensively review the experience of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease participating in the pulmonary rehabilitation. Methods A comprehensive search was conducted in the Cochrane Library,PsycINFO,PubMed,EBSCO,Web of Science,CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,and the SinoMed from their inception to June,2021. The papers focused on the experience of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease participating in the pulmonary rehabilitation. Australian JBI Evidence-based Health Care Center Qualitative Research Quality Evaluation Standard was used to evaluate the quality of literatures. Meta-synthesis was used to analyze the results. Results A total of 12 articles were included,including 214 participants. Twenty-seven results were extracted and grouped into 5 new categories. Two integrated results were obtained. ①Disease progression,social support,and rehabilitation environment influence patients’ participation in pulmonary rehabilitation（patients suffer from physical and mental pain,and their awareness of pulmonary rehabilitation is weak;social support enhances patients’ self-confidence in pulmonary rehabilitation;the rehabilitation environment is limited）. ②Par-ticipation in pulmonary rehabilitation can enhance the patient’s sense of benefit and look forward to the optimization and perfection of the rehabilitation program（the sense of benefit will be enhanced after participating in pulmonary rehabilitation;expectation of pulmonary rehabilitation）. Conclusion Medical staff should pay attention to patients’ experience of participation in pulmonary rehabilitation,and build a new form of pulmonary rehabilitation based on the needs of patients. Besides,it is necessary to enhance the application of pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in China.
