Development and evaluation of OSCE cases in emergency nursing practice teaching
Objective To develop OSCE cases in Emergency Nursing. Methods Based on literature analysis,we prepared OSCE teaching cases through group discussion. Ten experts were invited for two-round consultations and the cases were revised according to experts’ suggestions. Case quality were also evaluated by the experts when the second consultation was conducted. Results Six cases（triage and admission assessment process,transfer of critical patients in hospital,cooperation of rescuing patients with respiratory failure,adult cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation,gastric lavage for organophosphorus pesticide poisoning,hemostasis,bandaging,fixation and transportation of patients with trauma） were developed.Each case included 7 parts with background,objective,preparation before training,standardized patient’s information and scenario,scenario change,evaluation and feedback,and lectures.The scores of case quality ranged from 88.60±1.76 to 91.00±1.50. Conclusion The six cases have high quality and can be used in Emergency Nursing practice teaching.
