Objective To investigate the teaching behaviors for new nurses and its influencing factors of clinical nursing instructors in Lanzhou. Methods The Clinical Teaching Behavior Inventory（CTBI-23） was used to investigate the teaching behaviors among 1 754 clinical nursing instructors from 9 tertiary hospitals in Lanzhou. Results The total score of clinical teaching behaviors of nursing instructors was（98.14±12.28） with a score percentage of 85.3%. The main influencing factors of clinical teaching behaviors included marital status,training of teaching knowledge,experience of teaching competition,experience of scientific research,and professional identity,accounting for 37.3% of total variance. Conclusion Clinical instructors have better self-evaluation on the teaching behaviors for new nurses. However,it needs to be further strengthened in showing concern and support for new nurses and creating learning atmosphere.
