Learning experiences of participating the virtual simulation experiment teaching project in undergraduate nursing students

Abstract

Objective To explore the experiences and effects of participating the virtual simulation experiment teaching project in undergraduate nursing students. Methods A semi-structured interview were conducted with 9 undergraduate nursing students who participated in the virtual simulation experiment teaching project. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the data. Results Four themes emerged from the data including“expanded clinical thinking”,“development of systematic thinking”,“thinking from the standpoints of nurses”,and “real-situation supplement to clinical thinking”. Conclusion The virtual simulation experiment teaching project can promote the development of clinical thinking among undergraduate nursing students.
