Both groups received routine therapy and care. Patients in the experimental group received the intervention of jolly factor together with interest motivation. Contents of the intervention included chatting with the patients, participating some activities such as handwriting, singing, storytelling, and throwing and catching balls. The Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD) and Modified Barthel Index(MBI) were used to evaluate patients’ depression level before the intervention and 4 weeks after the intervention. Results The depression level and daily activity level of patients in the experimental group were significantly higher than those of patients in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion Jolly factors together with interest activation can alleviate depression level of post-stroke patients and improve their activities of daily living.
