The level and influence factors of teaching efficacy among nursing teachers in colleges or universities

Abstract: Objective To investigate the level and influence factors of teaching efficacy among nursing teachers in colleges or universities. Methods Totally 134 nursing teachers in Zunyi Medical University were investigated with University Teaching Efficacy Scale. Results The score of teaching efficacy was(3.72±0.43); the factor score of general teaching efficacy was the lowest and no significant difference was found between the factor score of personal teaching efficacy and professional teaching efficacy. Multiple regression analysis showed that teaching efficacy was influenced by proficiency of using multimedia, application of innovated teaching methods, the time of on-line learning, the times of attending peer lectures, writing papers and textbooks. Conclusion The teaching efficacy of nursing teachers in colleges or universities is influenced by teaching and research activities, which is needed to be further improved.
