Abstract:

Objective To explore the effects of training in pressure injury assessment for junior nurses. Methods A total of 100 junior nurses from 31 clinical departments in a tertiary hospital in Nanchang city were recruited by convenience sampling. Problems regarding the risk assessment of pressure injury were identified through preliminary investigation. Training was carried out by theory teaching, standardized video production, clinical practice guidance and competition. The scores of quality control of pressure injury risk assessment and the accuracy of risk assessment were compared before and after the training. Results After the training, the scores of quality control of stress injury assessment in junior nurses were higher than those before the training(t=6.674,P<0.001). The assessment accuracy of the items of sensation, dampness, mobility and nutrition and total accuracy in the assessment of stress injury among junior nurses were higher than those before the training (all P<0.05). Conclusion The training of risk assessment of pressure injury can standardize the assessment of pressure injury and improve the accuracy of assessment.
