Abstract: Objective To evaluate the effects of assistant devices for venous puncture for infants and children.Methods The problems during the vein puncture process were analyzed. To solve the problem，four patents were invented including the scalp venipuncture table，the multifunctional scalp venipuncture console for infants and children，the multi-functional dressing for indwelling needle，and multi-functional infusion pad. All those devices we in-vented were put in the clinical work. The repeated puncture rate was compared before and after the invented devices used. Results After the assisted devices were used,the repeated venous puncture rate was 6.33%[96/(1 421+96)],which was much lower than that before the devices used (18.41%[383/(1 697+383)], χ2=148.741,P<0.001).Conclusion The infant venipuncture assistant devices can effectively reduce the rate of repeated venous puncture in infants and children. All the devices can be promoted in the clinical settings.
