Analysis on the construction path and effect of national first-class undergraduate midwifery major

Promoted by the Department of Maternal and Child Health of the National Health Commission of the National Health Council and the Ministry of Education in China，Southern Medical University responded to the current situation of the country’s urgent need for midwifery talents by opening an undergraduate professional direction of midwifery in 2011，and approved as a National first-class undergraduate professional construction site in 2022. In this paper，we focused on the basic ideas and specific measures of Southern Medical University in the process of construction of first-class specialty of midwifery，and to provide a reference for the construction of midwifery specialty in domestic institutions.
