Objective To evaluate the effects of microlectures in the experimental teaching among undergraduate nursing students. Methods Microlectures were provided for 56 undergraduate nursing students in the experimental teaching. The outcomes were evaluated using students’ performance in theory exam and skill test,as well as students‘ self-directed learning rated by Self-Rating Scale for Self-Directedness in Learning(SRSSDL). Results The students’ performance in theory exam(t=1.854,P=0.033) and skill test(t=2.141,P=0.017) as well as the score of self-directed learning (t=12.881,P<0.001)were significantly improved than baseline. Conclusion Microlectures can effectively enhance the teaching outcomes and improve undergraduate nursing students’ abilities of self-directed learning and communication ability.
