Abstract:

Objective To understand the real experience and views of nursing teachers and students participating in narrative nursing education activities. Methods Purposive sampling was used to recruit 7 nursing teachers and twenty-five nursing students who participated in or experienced narrative nursing teaching for the interview. The interview transcripts were analyzed by content analysis. Results Five themes emerged, including integration of interests and thoughts, the merging of reality and humanistic feelings,co-cultivation of professional identity, the collaboration of multiple explorations and flexible application, and difficulty perception in narrative nursing implementation. Conclusion Compared with the traditional teaching, narrative nursing teaching can enrich the classroom teaching form and highlight the positive experience of teachers and students. However, further improvement is needed to reduce the negative experience to further promote the extension and application of narrative nursing education.
